Cervical Screening: What You Need to Know
What is cervical screening?
Cervical screening, also known as a HPV (high-risk papillomavirus) cervical screening test, is a simple, free test for aged 25-65 and plays a crucial role in preventing cervical cancer. It's not a test for cancer itself, but rather a way to check the health of your cervix and identify potential risks early on.
The test itself takes about 5 minutes, with the entire appointment usually lasting around 10 minutes.
Who should get screened and how often? All women and people with a cervix aged 25-65 should consider cervical screening, regardless of sexual history, HPV vaccination status, sexual orientation, or number of partners. Cervical screening frequency is based on age: every 3 years for women and people with a cervix aged 25-29, and every 5 years for those aged 30-65.
Why is cervical screening important?
Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers. Regular screening can detect cell changes early when they are easier to treat. Over 70% of cervical cancers are found in women who have never been screened or are not up to date with their screenings.

Menopause Management at Our Practice
What is Menopause?
Menopause is the natural part of ageing that marks the end of a woman's reproductive years. It occurs when the ovaries cease egg production, leading to the cessation of menstrual cycles. This is primarily driven by a decline in the hormones oestrogen and progesterone.
Why Does Menopause Happen?
As a natural part of ageing, the ovaries gradually produce less oestrogen and progesterone. This hormonal decline triggers menopause and can lead to various symptoms, such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, and vaginal dryness.

Our practice offers personalised care for menopause, including:
